On August 1, 2008 people in Russia will be able
to watch the unique celestial event- full eclipse
of the Sun. The eclipse width will be approximately
250 km and its axis will run through Novosibirsk:
the city will be in the center of the Moon shadow.
The eclipse will start at 5.44 p.m. and finish at
5.46 p.m. by local summer time. Full eclipse phase
in Novosibirsk will last 2 minutes 19 seconds.
Under the auspices of RIPN
Special Astrophysical
Observatory of the Russian Academy of Sciences will
provide for three-channel Internet transmission of
