2 Gigabit Ethernet for Saint-Petersburg Internet Exchange Attendees

Saint-Petersburg Internet Exchange (SPB-IX) announced extension of trunk line up to 2 Gb. It has proven feasible through setting up additional 1 Gbps communication line between the platforms.

The new communication line is set up based on a specific pair of optical fiber, allowing thereby to enhance reliability, fail-safe features and capacity of the system.

Access to SPB-IX services at 2 Gbps is granted in response to operators' growing needs in traffic exchange of information resources and optimization of network connectivity.
